Terra Perma Workshops, and Events.
Terra Perma is based in Pemberton, Western Australia and runs workshops in South West WA. If you are between Bunbury and Albany please look up our program below or get in touch to request a workshop. We work with community groups, not for profits and councils to educate locals on urban sustainability, ecology and regenerative farming.
Unfortunately Terra Perma does not currently have any Perth-based activities planned but as workshops come up within the Perth and south west WA regions, they should be added to the information issued by PermacultureWest, so we'd recommend you kept an eye on either their Facebook page or check with the providers who are all listed here on the PermacultureWest website.

It's hard to know what to do first and how to spend your limited 'hobby' funds. We can cover anything you need or just go through the basics of picking a spot, creating a garden bed and growing the plants. ______________________________________________________________________________ 
DIY Garden Retic And Watering

We will look at choosing hoses and attachments, sprinklers, timers, the very versatile 13mm polypipe dripper systems, DIY bore pipes, ring mains, solenoids and much more! We'll explain how to create a pond that doesn’t need pumps or fuss - minimising energy consumption and maintenance. The water provides for the needs of the native fauna and its quality is managed by a diverse range of edible and useful aquatic plants. Charles will have you thinking like a Permie and hopefully understanding WHY those Permie friends (and books you have) do what they do. This is not a 'hands on activities Intro' like others, we believe there are already many opportunities to compost, plant, garden, etc at community gardens and groups. What you need is to get your thinking sorted, then you can seek out these workshops and gain much more from them. We will do a couple of guided tours of Charles garden to stretch legs, get fresh air and explain the 'thinking' with visual examples for those that need to see it "in the bark". _______________________________________________________________________________

The presentation and then 30 minute Q & A will provide many light bulb moments, and hopefully allow you to join the dots and understand what this Permaculture stuff is all about. Part 1 covers optimal location of the garden within an urban space (big or small), how to make in-ground garden beds (with clay, compost, rock dust and kelp) and wicking containerised beds. We will discuss, buying or building up soil and amendment choices. ReWilding Day - Woodstone Farm / Wild Movement Perth

How to Build Wicking Beds
Date/s and Times: 2.5 hour workshop Class: PAST Cost: $50 p/p or $90 couple Venue: TBC (NOTE: 30 min 'Taster' workshop may be offered for ~$5 p/p - TBC) Description: Wicking beds work - they stop nutrient laden water from leaving the root zone and allow it to be taken back up by the roots/soil to meet the plant’s needs - like a natural water table. This workshop will describe and demonstrate several wicking designs with a short theory section then hands-on activities, leaving you knowing how and what you can build (raised and in ground) and what to put in it for the best quality veggies for your health. ______________________________________________________________________________ 
Perth Seed Saving Skills

We will cover open pollinated, heirloom, hybrid, selecting the plants to save and rouge out, harvesting seeds, drying the seed and storing/ labeling seeds for future use/sharing. Growing Food in a Small Spaces (Container and Mobile gardening)

More people are gardening in small spaces now than ever before. Learn the basics of container gardening, vertical gardening, mobile and transportable options (for rentals), pest management (exclusion), crop choices and other tips. Soil for Summer and Beyond (Understanding, Amending & Protecting)
